Top Audio on Emerging Church
The Emerging Church is a rapidly shifting mix of ideas and activities. The term covers a wide spectrum, from those who retain the historic evangelical message but seek new methods of commending it and celebrating it, to others who raise more radical questions questions about the message itself.
The following list represents speakers from various points along the spectrum.
Interview with Dan Kimball – Kimball is Staff Pastor at Vintage Faith Church, Santa Cruz, CA, and author of ‘They Like Jesus But Not The Church’
Reclaiming the Mind Ministries has a series of discussions on ‘Understanding the Emerging Church’ with Michael Patten, Rhome Dyck, and Greg Cromartie
A number of talks by Brian McLaren are available here.
A recent Xenos Summer Institute hosted, among others, two talks by Mark Driscoll and two by D. A. Carson. Driscoll is his usual outspoken self (embarrasingly so, in one exchange with a member of his audience). Carson offers a helpful update on his book ‘Becoming Conversant with the Emerging Church’.
Several more talks and lectures by D.A. Carson can be found here.
Several lectures – some favourable, some not, are here.
Jason Clark recently gave this talk at the Evangelical Alliance UK Council.
Jason Clarke (different person – note the ‘e’!) contributed a talk at the 2007 Proclamation Trust Evangelical Ministers’ Assembly. All the messages from this conference are available here for a modest outlay.
