Delivery – 20 questions

Peter Mead has posted a checklist of 20 questions (well, 88, actually, but they boil down to 20) about a preacher’s delivery.
I summarise:-
- What do your tone and manner communicate to your hearers?
- Does your speech flow smoothly?
- How is your eye contact?
- Are your notes working for you, or against you?
- Does your preaching furniture get in the way?
- What are your feet doing while you preach?
- Do your gestures complement what you are saying?
- Does your face reflect your heart?
- How effective are your pauses?
- Is your pace about right, and appropriately varied?
- Is your volume about right, and appropriately varied?
- Is the pitch of your voice about right, and appropriately varied?
- Is your posture comfortable?
- Is your choice of words appropriate for your audience?
- Does what you say actually make sense?
- Is what you wear appropriate?
- Do you have any irritating or distracting mannerisms?
- Do you communicate genuineness?
- How do you pray about delivery?
- Do you have a strategy for developing as a public speaker?
