Equally fascinating are the questions that he himself posed to others.  They, too, show how wisely and sensitively he probed people’s thoughts, feelings and motives.

Mk 10:18; Lk 18:19 “Why do you call me good?”

Luke 6:3 “Have you never read what David did when he and his companions were hungry?”

Luke 6:9 “I ask you, which is lawful on the Sabbath: to do good or to do evil, to save life or to destroy it?”

Luke 7:42  “Which of them will love him more?”

Luke 8:30 “What is your name?”

Luke 9:18 “Who do the crowds say I am?”

Luke 18:41 “What do you want me to do for you?”

Luke 20:3f  “Tell me, John’s baptism–was it from heaven, or from men?”

Luke 20:41-44 “How is it that they say the Christ is the Son of David?  David himself declares in the Book of Psalms: “‘The Lord said to my Lord: “Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet.”‘  David calls him ‘Lord.’ How then can he be his son?”

Luke 22:35 “When I sent you without purse, bag or sandals, did you lack anything?”

Luke 24:17 “What are you discussing together as you walk along?”

Luke 24:19 [Cleopas asked him, “Are you only a visitor to Jerusalem and do not know the things that have happened there in these days?”] Jesus replies, “What things?”

Jn 1:38 “What do you want?”

John 5:6 “Do you want to get well?”
