About
From the tale of a garden to the city of gold. From prayer to predestination. From Puritans to Pentecostals. From angels to Zionism. From book reviews you can read to blogs you can visit. From the theology of animals to the theology of the ‘emerging church’.
This web site gathers thoughts and insights from a wide range of Christian writers, and offers comment and reflection on the Bible, and on issues facing God’s people today.
Ever since I became a Christian back in the 1970s, I have been passionate about the Bible as the word of God. I’ve also been keen to learn as much as I can from those men and women who have written about the Christian faith with clarity and insight. Over the past years, I’ve been putting the results of all this up here on my web site. Of course, some of the material expresses my own personal opinion. But a lot of it aims simply to pass on, in readily-digestible form, the teaching of some of the best Christian writers, old and new. That’s why I think of it as ‘walking with giants’.
I’m the husband (of Sarah), a father (of David & Rachel), and, most recently, a grandfather (of Thea, Rachel & Ben’s daughter; and of Cerys and Kieran, David and Nina’s treasures).
I’m a Licensed Lay Minister at Holy Trinity Church, Norwich. I have professional qualifications in Adult Nursing and Learning Disability Nursing and academic qualifications in education and management. Until my retirement I was a lecturer in the School of Health Sciences, University of East Anglia.
By the way, the mug-shot was taken in the English Lake District, not far from Easedale Tarn.
