The Lord Jesus declared: “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me” (Matthew 28:18).  John Piper outlines ten ‘sightings’ of that authority.  We see it:-

1. In his act as the creator of all things, Jn 1:3.
2. In his sustaining the world, Heb 1:3; Col 1:17.
3. In his governing of all nature, Mt 10:29; Lk 8:25.
4. In his sovereignty over Satan and all his demons, Mk 1:27; 1 Jn 5:18.
5. In his oversight and governance of all the affairs of history, Rev 17:14.
6. In his authority over all disease, Ex 4:11; Acts 10:38.
7. In God’s sovereignty over the sinful acts of men, Acts 4:27f.
8. In his sovereignty over conversion, Mk 10:23-27.
9. In his triumph over death, Rom 8:35-37; 1 Cor 15:54-58.
10. In his oversight of the mission of the church, Mt 16:18.
