Discussion starters, Jn 20:1-18
(a) Suppose you had known nothing about Jesus, or about the Christian faith. Then, you pick up John’s Gospel and start to read it through. You reach chapter 20. What might be your thoughts and feelings, as you read this chapter for the first time?
(b) Critics sometimes claim that the resurrection accounts found in the four Gospels are hopelessly at odds with one another. What do you think? If there are variations between the different accounts, why might that be so?
(c) The resurrection of Jesus doesn’t only point to our own future resurrection. It also means that God has already begun something new in the world. What is that ‘something new’, and how can we be a part of it?
